Appearanceblack [a/a B/B C/C]
Strain developmentDeveloped by Dr. Kadowaki of the University of Tokyo and backcrossed to C57BL/6 for 12 generations by depositor.
Strain descriptionPI3K, phosphoinositide-3-kinase gene is a lipid kinases that catalyze the addition of a phosphate molecule specifically to the 3-position of the inositol ring of phosphoinositides. This strain is useful for elucidating of the rule of PI3K in various phases of immune responses. Homozygous mutant females were sterile.
Colony maintenanceSince most of homozygous females are sterile, we maintain the colony by mating heterozygous females with homozygous males.
