Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Hiroaki Honda, Research Institute for Radiation Biology and Medicine, Hiroshima University. The Mbtd1 mutant mice were generated by replacing the mbt-coding exons with IRES-GFP and floxed neo resistant gene. The neo resistant gene was removed by microinjecting a Cre expression vector into fertilized eggs. The mutant mice were backcrossed with C57BL/6N for at least 10 times. |
Strain description | Mbtd1 (Hemp) gene knockout mice. Exon 6, 7 and 8 (mbt-coding exons) were replaced with an IRES-GFP. Western blot analysis showed absence of Mbtb1 protein. Homozygous null mutant mice show skeletal abnormalities and are neonatal lethal. |
Colony maintenance | Heterozygote X Wild-type [C57BL/6NCrlCrlj] |
