International Training Course of Experimental Animal

“Management of SPF animal facility for genetically engineered mice”
“Cryopresevation of mouse embryos and sperms”
Two international training courses of experimental animal were held from Jun 31st to Aug 31st, 2006. One is “management of SPF animal facility of genetically engineered mice” and another is “cryopreservation of mouse embryos and sperms”. Three skilled trainees from National Laboratory Animal Center of Taiwan participated in the training courses and stayed for one month in the visitors quarters of RIKEN BRC at Tsukuba. They learned theory and practice of genetic monitoring, microbiological monitoring, rederivation, colony maintenance, and cryopreservation of mouse embryos and sperms. They also enjoyed staying in Tsukuba and Japanese food. Our training courses provided the participants advanced technologies and knowledge of laboratory animal science. We hope their experience in RIKEN BRC will contribute to their successful career.
