RIKEN BRC

Participation in the 3rd AMMRA Meeting

The 3rd meeting on the Asian Mouse Mutagenesis and Resource Association (AMMRA) was held on October 23 and 24 at Daejeon campus of Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB). The AMMRA was founded in 2006 to strengthen Asian networks to promote mutual collaboration in mouse mutagenesis and use of generated mouse resources. Delegates of RIKEN BRC, Drs. Yuichi Obata, Kazuo Moriwaki, Atsushi Yoshiki, Yoichi Gondo, Ryutaro Fukumura and Ms.Sumiko Saito participated in this meeting and reported current activities of RIKEN BRC and recent research results. In addtition to reports from each Asian institution, distinguished invited speakers, Dr.Wolfgang Wurst from GSF representing European Conditional Mouse Mutagenesis Program (EUCOMM), and Dr.Colin McKerlie from Canadian Mouse Mutant Repository (CMMR) representing North American Conditional Mouse Mutagenesis project (NorCOMM) gave reports on the recent progress of their projects. We had fruitful discussion and exchanged valuable information during the meeting. The next 4th AMMRA meeting is decided to be held in 2009 in Japan hosted by Professor Kenichi Yamamura, Kumamoto University in Japan.
