Delphilin KO Mouse
|
Delphilin selectively expresses on Purkinje cells (PCs) and exclusively localizes at parallel fiber (PF) synapses in cerebellum, and associates with glutamate receptor (GluR) δ2, an essential molecule for long-term depression (LTD), motor learning and cerebellar wiring. Delphilin homozygous mutant mice showed facilitation of LTD induction and enhancement of the eye movement that follows the movements of large visual fields, and its adaptation (optokinetic response (OKR) adaptation). These homozygous mutant mice with C57BL/6 background are useful for studying the cerebellar synapses plasticity mechanisms in motor learning.
